US connector maker Samtec has acquired the assets and going-forward business relationship of RF specialist Precision Connector, Inc (PCI) in Indiana for an undisclosed sum.

PCI specialises in the design and manufacture of precision RF and microwave coaxial connectors and brings over 25 years of design experience in the RF/Microwave industry to Samtec. Precision RF operations will continue at Franklin, Indiana as a division of Samtec.

The additional engineering support and product offering of precision interconnects—such as 3.50 mm, 2.92 mm, SMP, 2.40 mm, 1.85 mm, SMPM and 1.0 mm—will further strengthen Samtec’s RF portfolio and accelerate its move into the precision RF sector.

“We are proud to have the PCI team onboard. PCI core values directly align with Samtec’s, with the goal of providing the best customer service in the industry, advanced technical support, with the highest quality products,” said Mike Dunne, Director of RF Business Development at Samtec.

“We are very excited to be a part of the Samtec team and look forward to the opportunities of being a part of a global leader, supplying high quality interconnects to markets all over the world,” said Steve McGeary of PCI.
