Optical inspection for conformal coating
One of the main challenges in the production of printed circuit boards (PCB) in the electronic industry is the protection against harsh environments with high humidity, strong temperature changes and dust or chemical contamination. Since the ‘60s, the conformal coating process has been proposed as a solution for these problems.

The main features of systems include the following:

Possibility to suit different production lines, implementing custom configurations.

Possibility to perform simultaneous inspection on both sides of the PCB.

Capability to match the inspection results to the individual board via barcode.

Higher inspection speed than the standard systems equipped with camera.

Program generation can be made in few minutes.

The program can also be created offline via programming station, therefore without stopping production.

The inspection program debug is intuitive, and does not require a deep understanding of the process.

Thanks to a motorized system, it is possible to inspect the component side, in order to ensure the presence of conformal coating also in areas which are normally not inspected with standard AOI systems.

Streamlined ordinary maintenance: simply keep clean the  external glass of the scanner.
