Multiport VNAs handle100 kHz to 40 GHz
Rohde & Schwarz has launched the first vector network analyser (VNA) p to 24 integrated test ports across a frequency range from 100 kHz to 40 GHz for applications such as measurements on 5G multi-antenna arrays.

The multiport architecture of the ZNBT40 also supports simultaneous testing of multiple DUTs in production to boost throughput as well as multi-antenna communications systems (MIMO, SISO, MISO), including radar systems for the A&D sector. It is aiimed at measurements on front end modules, antenna arrays and beamformer chips for 5G NR. R&S says this is currently the only multiport vector network analyzer that can measure in the frequency spectrum below 300 kHz, making suitable for specification tests in accordance with various standards such as USB-C. 

The ZNBT allows users to perform signal integrity tests in order to check crosstalk or length offset between lines or to detect faults in cables. In addition to measuring S-parameters on multiport devices, the VNA can perform phase measurements on up to 24 signalsand provides long-term measurement stability through the instrument’s raw RF data.

The 26.5 GHz ZNBT26 and 40 GHz ZNBT40 are available now.
